“There are endless, exciting things to paint and I am always up for the challenge".”

Early in my creative career I designed spaces for people to live in. In doing so, my greatest joy came in putting graphite to paper from concept sketches to crispy drafted working drawings and colorfully rendered presentations. Painting in oil was always a distant dream. When I finally decided to become serious about instruction, I enrolled in the atelier program at the Academy of Realist Art in Boston. It was at ARA that I learned to “see” and gain transformative skills.

Infinitely inspired by my instructors, fellow classmates and, of course, the Old Masters, I am always questioning what makes a good painting great. To me that could be the discovery of chroma in the shadows, a thoughtful composition, or a specular highlight that transforms a blob of paint into dazzling jewel. With each new painting I take these inspirations and push myself to try different techniques and elevate my strengths.
